Laundry Room Hanging Rack

Still working in on the laundry room my friends. Yesterday I showed you the easy scrap fabric valance I made for the window. Today I've got another quick project I thought I'd share.
I bought another one of these peg racks from Hobby Lobby for about $6 (less with my coupon). This is the same thing I used in our Kids Art Gallery hallway here.
They come unfinished so I gave it a quick couple of coats of white spray paint.
Then I decided to jazz it up a bit by painting the ends. As you can see I sort of just used what I had on hand and for whatever reason I didn't have any yellow paint (other than my kiddos--and that wasn't exactly the yellow I was going for). I did however, have a yellow paint pen. So that's what I used--and it worked just fine. :)
I found this decorative tape at Target in the crafty area. It isn't super sticky so it is really easy to work with. So while the paint was drying I sort of just wrapped the perimeter of the board with this tape (using a dab of hot glue here and there just to make sure.)
I added a few little designs on top of my little mushroom caps with a white paint pen and gave the whole thing a quick spray or two of polyurethane.
And wa la! There she be! I now have a place to hang clothes (on hangers) before taking them upstairs to hang in our closets.
Here's a glimpse of it up on the wall. You can also see a bit of my red frames I showed real quick last week and a bit of our newly painted black door as well. That's all you get though. I've got a few more ideas that are in the works before I can reveal her completely. Soon, I promise. :)

    1. Thanks so much Laurel! Hope you have a great week!

  2. I have that same polka dot tape! :)
And I've been dying to put it on something...since I also have one of those peg racks somewhere. Although mine probably has 2 or 3 colors of paint layered on it. It would be perfect in my project area.
