Fall Decor--Mantel

Since Fall has officially begun, I thought I'd start the week off by showing a fall inspired project or two.

I found a similar idea on Pinterest and was inspired. The best part: It was so easy--and inexpensive.  I found the two matching hurricanes at our local Goodwill store for less than $2.00 a piece. I picked up the split peas, northern beans, and pumpkin spice candles at Walmart for a very good price as well. Put them all together (along with a little twine I already had) and...

wa-la! Two fun and colorful additions to my mantel.

Here is my mantel (as of yet, anyway)--done very inexpensively I might add. The pumpkins and tins were all found at the Dollar Tree of all places while the bouquets on both ends were from Walmart. Fall is everywhere I tell you!! :)

The banner came from Poppies at Play. I simply printed it out on cardstock, cut out each piece, punched two holes in each, and threaded it with twine.

Don't ya just love decorating for fall?

  4. Wow! Thankful that Lisa Pennington did this link up party today or I never would have found you. I love this mantle, already own the hurricanes, and now I'm inspired to take "summer" down and get "autumn" rollin'. (oh, and I don't know how to get this published under my website ..... all it will take is the old blogger address) :( Celia, at http://hillcountrystampin.com
