Birthday Week Day 2-Party Planning

As I mentioned yesterday, it is birthday week at our house. My four year old is turning five (sniff) on Saturday, which means I need to make sure I have all my loose ends tied before the big bash this weekend. I showed you the balloon wreath I made   and put on the door a week before each birthday to sort of start the excitement and let my little ones know that the countdown has officially begun (although I think she's been counting down since July--no joke.)

Anywho....

Today I thought I'd show you how I keep my thoughts organized when planning my kiddos' (or any for that matter) parties.

Enter my Party Time Binder.
(You can download a copy of the binder cover and spine here.)

I'm going to go ahead and apologize for the lighting in these photos. I took them at night and there was an awful glare. Sorry. :(

So I use this binder for a variety of things (birthdays, other celebrations, Christmas planning, vacation planning, etc.) but, since this week is dedicated to planning my daughter's birthday/party I am just going to talk about this particular section.

I created this party planner sheet so that I could have all the info about the party I was planning all on one sheet.
Quick tip: When writing down the guest list, I like to highlight boys in blue and girls in pink so that I can get a count for favors and such. (I do realize there will soon come a time when we will be hosting slumber parties and there will be no more boys on the list. We're not at that stage quite yet though. :)

The other info is pretty self explanatory. I like to keep a little info about the invitations (whether I made them or ordered them, etc.) That way if I decide to do the same to following year I can look back and see where I ordered them, etc.

You can download your own copy of my party planner here.

Another list that I came across online is the "Birthday Party Checklist" that breaks down what should be done to prepare for the party as much as 4 weeks in advance.

I slid them into clear protective sleeves so that I could check things off with a dry erase marker and wipe them off when done.

You can download your own copy of the Birthday Party Checklist here.

So now  I'm on track with the party planning.

Stay tuned tomorrow as I show you more of our birthday traditions.

    1. Thanks for telling me Alisha. I will look into it. Can you tell me what it did when you tried? Did it ask you for a password? I'll try and figure it out. I had someone else mention something to me about another printable.

    3. I had to create an account and it told me that it had been deleted or that the file is unavailable to me. I just tried it again and I got the same message.
