Client Space: Command Center

A good friend of mine approached me a while back to help her organize the "stuff" that often lands on the kitchen counter. You know, mail, bills, invitations, kids school/art work... The list goes on.

She showed me where things typically ended up. And although this doesn't look so bad, it wasn't working for them so we started brainstorming. She needed a command center!

She knew it needed to be in or near the kitchen as that is where things seemed to migrate. She also knew she wanted things off of the counter.
 So we found the perfect wall.

And I went home to do a little research.

I pulled together a bunch of ideas and drew out a few options and 

she chose what worked for her.

And her command center was born!

Obviously this picture was taken before the wall pockets got labeled but didn't it turn out amazing? You never know where you'll find things either. We found the rustic wall bins at Marshalls and the little shelf is actually a spice rack from Ikea. 

She even took it a step further to paint and distress the spice rack/shelf and calendar. Not to mention her super cute bottle cap magnets. So creative. Such a fun project and I was so happy to be a part of it.

I wanted to show you another version of the command center that my cousin actually sent to me a while back. Just goes to show that there are so many ways to create a spot for all that "stuff". And it doesn't have to be expensive either.

It doesn't necessarily have to be on a wall either. Check this great idea out from Lovely Crafty Home.

 There really are so many ways to create a sort of hub for you family. Pinterest is full of them.
