Yesterday I mentioned that I have started re-organizing the kids' playroom--mainly due to some additions that entered the room after birthdays and Christmas. The first thing that needed to move was their play kitchen. And what makes a kitchen even more fun to play with? Creating a "cafe" to go with it of course! So that has been our first project. Yesterday I showed you how we made this fun little awning out of a cardboard box and a tablecloth. (See that here.)
Today I wanted to show you a couple more additions. Because it's all in the details, right?
The next thing we did was give the cafe a name. And since both my kids' names start with T....well, you get it. (To make the letters I cut them out of cardstock with my Silhouette and simply stuck them on with some spray adhesive.)
I also added a fun clock that hasn't worked for quite a while but thought would be a fun little addition and that the kids could play with.
and some wall pockets to hold restaurant materials
such as a tablecloth and placemats.
I have had these for a long time now and can't seem to find where I originally found them. However, I found them online, printed them out, and had them laminated. I love them because it helps teach the kiddos to set the table.
I also created some menus
and an order sheet. I had them both laminated for durability and so that the "waiter/waitress" can circle the order with a dry erase marker. (I found this idea through Pinterest but needed to change it a bit to suit our needs a little.)
It's always a good idea to confirm the order....
to have a happy customer. :)
Okay, so now that Cafe la T is up and running, I can move on to the "market". But before I do, I thought I'd share a few printables with you! Feel free to download any of them below and create your own cafe or restaurant. :)
You can download all 4 of these fun printables and let your kids' imaginations soar for a small fee on my Etsy page here.
