Floor Puzzle Turned Art

So a couple of weeks ago, I decided to splurge a bit on a new quilt from Pottery Barn Kids for my three year old's bedroom. This quilt also has sheets and shams (don't have those...yet, anyway) that include various princesses, including the Princess and the Pea. Since nothing in there is inexpensive, I figured I'd better stop at the quilt. Until I found this:

a Princess and the Pea floor puzzle! Guess what it cost.
Okay I'll tell you. It was on sale for $10.99!
Needless to say, I snatched it up immediately....ideas were swirling.

Although this would have been a fun addition to our puzzles, I wanted to incorporate it in her room somehow. So, I waited until frames were 50% off at Hobby Lobby. (Tip: NEVER buy anything at HB for full price. Just about everything in the store will be 50% off at sometime and if you can't wait, you can always get a 40% off coupon in the paper or online. Just sayin'.)

They had one that was the perfect size. It was meant to be. :)

I opened up the frame and had my girls help put the puzzle together on the cardboard inside the frame. I thought about gluing it but it ended up not being necessary.

Here it is all put together.

And here it is framed! So pretty right? And it matches the bedding perfectly!

And although I don't want to show the whole thing quite yet, you can see that it fits perfectly above the bed with the new headboard we made the other day! Love to see a plan coming together. :)

Two more projects to go!!
