Front Porch All Put Together

For the past two weeks, I've been showing you projects I've been working on for our front porch. Today I'm finally ready to show you everything put together. {Yay!}

You might remember our porch rules from last week. This sort of became the inspiration for everything (that and the rocking chairs we refinished). I wanted our porch to be a place of calm and to basically do all of the rules listed above.

Starting with this bench I refinished last year. I added the little saying by using my (Silhouette) cut out letters as stencils and then painting it on.

By our front door is an old planter box that needs a little love. It can't even hold flowers at the moment. But I still love it and figure a porch can't say "welcome" enough. :)

Above it are hooks that used to be inside our house in the kids' bathroom. I had my dad hang this right outside of the door using concrete screws. We have used this SO much for wet swimsuits and towels in the summer and snowsuits and snowy clothes in the winter.

Moving on to the the other side...

I bought an inexpensive rug/runner from Ikea that I thought would add some color. I figure it probably won't past fall but it wasn't a huge investment so I'm okay with that.

Remember the checkers bucket I made earlier this week?

And our new table that we converted into a tic tac toe table?

Oh and our rocking chairs got some color too. I found the yellow cushions from World Market this season and the red pillows were from Walmart's outdoor section last year. Goes to show, you never know where you will find these things.

Across from the chairs is a bottle opener that I bought for hubs for Christmas from Urban Outfitters. (I couldn't find it on their site anymore but here is one that is similar.)

We then hung a little bucket below it to hold the bottle caps. **Note, make sure to drill a small hole at the bottom to let water drain out as needed.

So there you have it...a comfy, friendly, welcoming front porch. That is most likely where you could find hubby and me each evening throughout the summer. I'm starting to feel more relaxed already. :)

    The whole porch looks amazing by the way, not just the table. :)
