Howdy folks! So, it's Friday (yay)! And I decided I was going to start devoting Fridays to a new series I'd like to call:
I'm as big a fan of big projects with dramatic before and afters as the next guy. I am a fully admitted home magazine and Pinterest addict. (There I said it.) And I'm not afraid to get my hands dirty and work hard (and long) on a project that I know will be well worth it in the end.
But honestly.....sometimes I just want a quick, little, and SIMPLE idea that just makes life....well....easier.
Can anyone relate? Have you ever come across something so small and insignificant but thought, well duh. Why didn't I think of that? I do it....all the time.
So, as I mentioned before getting so chatty with ya, I'm going to try and devote Fridays to just this. Why Fridays? Well, aren't Fridays sort of a celebration in their own right?
Well okay then, let's celebrate!!
Okay, okay, I've gone a little inspirational quote happy. Just couldn't help myself.
Ready for me to share this week's "little thing"?
You might laugh but I'm going to share it anyway.
Yep, McDonald's is back to playing Monopoly again!!
And although I typically don't eat a whole lot of Mickey D's, I seriously cannot resist collecting those little Monopoly properties! Call it a problem, but not after I win (or not) a big wad of cash, or a Fiat, or tickets to the Super Bowl. (That last one would be more for my husband.)
But anyway, as I mentioned, Hubs and I have been collecting these little pieces here and there for the last couple of weeks. The problem? They are tiny and were bound to get lost! So, a second of pure
craziness genius came over me.
I decided to use a business card holder page (that's the technical term) that I already had on hand, put some colored paper inside each slot to represent each property....and wa-la! I had a home for all my little pieces!
It's the little things. Am I right?
Where do I keep it you ask? In my Home Management Binder next to a Monopoly Board I got of their website, of course!
All silliness aside for a second, I realize this won't change lives or have any sort of impact on many, but it did make something easier and fun for us. The best part: it cost me nothing and took all of five minutes to put together!
Hopefully you now have a better understanding at just how little these "little things" can be while still making things easier in our lives.
I'd love to hear your thoughts but before you comment, please understand that I am in no way promoting fast food as a staple in your diet. I'm just sharing something that is silly and fun for hubs and me.
Please feel free to share a little something that has truly made life easier for YOU in some way. (You can leave it in a comment or email me.) I would love to feature them in upcoming weeks!
