Day 9 of my series: 31 Days to Transform the Heart of Your Home. (Go here to catch up and see what's in store for the rest of the series.)
Today I wanted to show a little way to add color and fun to any room---but in this case---the kitchen!
I mentioned on Day 6 when discussing what to put above kitchen cabinets, that words (whether wood or chipboard like mine) can be a great way to not only add a little color but some personality as well.
So I decided to reuse some letters I had with a little yarn and hot glue.
I used a yellow and white yarn that was already combined and wrapped the outsides of the letters.
Then tried to fill in some of the inside.
I then wrapped long-wise across the top, middle, and bottom
and then in the opposite direction.
I then decided to add a little red with half a piece of felt I had on hand.
I then folded the half in half
and cut slits leaving about a half an inch on the glued edge.
With a little hot glue, I began to roll.
until I couldn't anymore--securing with glue the entire time.
I decided to glue on a little square to the back to make it easier to adhere to my letter.
A little fabric and my felt flower and I think I'm finished.
A fun little pop of color and texture!
Linking to these parties.
