Over the weekend I was asked to help a lady get her new basement closet organized. She was affected by the Colorado flooding this past summer and used her insurance money to help put in a custom closet system from California Closets. During the flooding this poor woman, who was actually trying to help a neighbor cyphen water from her basement, was thrown about 8 feet in the air by gushing water, and broke her shoulder and ankle in two places. When it rains it pours.....literally.
That's where I came in. Because she was still recovering from her injuries (and was totally overwhelmed) she called me to see if I could help organize her new closet.
This is the room with all of the "stuff" needing to be sorted, purged, and organized into her newly renovated space. (This pic was actually taken about an hour into our work. But you get the picture. There was a lot.)
I wish I had more before pictures but we were so busy, I really didn't get to. You can get a bit of an idea though. Here is part of new closet space and here are some of the clothes she decided to keep sorted into jackets and pants.
This is the other side with the rest of the hanging clothes and shelving with contact paper that we put down. And although we aren't quite finished, what an accomplishment. I didn't get a picture but I took 15 LARGE lawn sized garbage bags of clothes to the garage for a scheduled Arc pickup this week and hauled off about five comforters and blankets and a number of pillows to the Humane Society for cats and dogs to snuggle up and stay warm in. Love days like that.
And the room with all the stuff?
Take a look now!
She can actually walk inside and see the floor!
